First up we have the Wugulora Indigenous Morning Ceremony from 7:30-8:30am at the Walumi Lawns in Barangaroo (see map below). This will provide opportunities for Event and Crowd/People photography – all part of the Photojournalism genre. And/or you can just take in the harbour-side scenery in these parts.
Following that we have the annual Wheel Chair Races from 9:00am. These start from Circular Quay and follow George Street and Hickson Road, so there are lots of vantage points you can use for this one. Spots near where Hickson Road rises to meet George Street provide a good opportunity to catch the participants whizzing downhill on the outward leg or struggling uphill on the return. You can practise capturing motion blur and/or the effort and strain on the faces of participants. You can also try different angles: shooting from low down, or finding a vantage point with a bit of elevation, shooting from side on, or on a curve where they are coming straight towards you.
And afterwards of course I am sure we will be able to find a suitable café for come coffee and morning tea – or late breakfast depending in your inclination!
