On Thursday night we had a good roll up to hear our quest speaker, Michael Amendolia, talk of his experiences as first a news photographer, and then a freelance photographer, in the field of photojournalism. Michael covered a range of topics including ethics in news photography, capturing the moment and what it is like to be part of a media pack. He also talked about the current trends in the field, and the impact of the ubiquitous presence of digital cameras and smart phones. Michael illustrated his talk with some of his own photos (see Michael Amendolia – Photography) and using a number of facinating books he brought along for the occasion. It was an interesting night.

We also welcomed a guest for the evening, Dinesh, and signed up Patricia as our latest new member. Welcome aboard!
