This year we are combining Top Shot and the AGM into the one meeting.
Top Shot
Top Shot is a night where we exhibit all the prints and digital images that received a Merit or Members Choice award during the year, our judge Tanya Du Toit will review these images one last time and will then pick their top three for each category (print & digital).
From these three images an overall winner for our Top Shot of the Year competition will be selected, the winner will be announced at our Christmas Dinner and Presentation Night on Dec 4th.
In order for your images to be in the running you will need to bring along your prints that scored a Merit or Members Choice during this year. We will bring along all digital images that scored a Merit or Members Choice so you only need to bring along your prints.
AGM
Out with the old and in with the new! It’s that time of year when all the executive committee posts are up for re-election and the members will vote in the new committee for 2020.
This year we will be looking for a new treasurer, so if numbers are your thing and you will be able to help then please have a chat with Ben and find out more. The other roles are president, secretary, competition secretary, vice president and online media co-ordinator so if you are interested in volunteering to help out with any of those roles you can talk to members of the EC to find out more. .
If you would like to get more involved with the running of the club in a less official capacity we would welcome your help (there are lots of things to be done from helping with the clean up in the kitchen at the end of the night, to running an outing, or delivering a talk on a topic of interest), so just chat to us to let us know what you’d like to be involved in, skills you can offer or find out how you can help.
The AGM isn’t all about the exec – we will also be discussing the activities the club provides and asking the members what they would like see happening in 2020. To help facilitate this we will review the results of our annual survey – so make sure you fill it in when it lands in your email inbox! As a club we are very keen to make sure our activities are relevant and enjoyed by all so if you would like your say please come along (even if you are happy with everything we’d really like to hear that!).
