Portfolio Progress

The 2014 portfolio is in full swing with an impressive 14 members participating this year. So far we have had a couple of sessions and a day trip to the Blue Mountains.

The first session helped us ease our way into it with Monica bringing along a selection of magazines and books for inspiration and to help those who didn’t already know what they were doing to decide on a theme. The result is an exciting and varied selection of projects underway.

The second session was with our mentor Len Metcalf. Those who had made a start on their portfolio brought along prints for discussion amongst the group, and everyone benefited from Len’s expert advice and enthusiasm for our projects.

Len also runs other groups and classes so the day trip to the Blue Mountains was an opportunity for us to meet up and get to know each other. We started with an early morning bush walk along Glenbrook Gorge which provided plenty of photo opportunities, and if anyone was short of inspiration Len set a series of photo challenges. After a picnic lunch in the park we finished with a visit to Lennox Bridge for more photo taking before the drive back to Sydney. It was a lovely day and perfectly organised by Len.

The portfolio flickr group is up and running – if you have joined the portfolio group but haven’t received an email about flickr then we've got your email address wrong so let us know and we can update it so you don't miss out.

For those not taking part in the portfolio the completed projects will be presented to the club on October 2nd so please keep this evening free and come along to see the fruits of our labour!
