Studio Flash

Our last meeting was a hands-on exercise staged in a photo studio in Marrickville. We were doubly blessed to have on hand the very knowledgeable Malcolm Fackender who kicked off proceedings with a brief presentation on Flash Photography and showed us some of the simple and inexpensive gear that can be used in lieu of expensive studio lighting.

We then split into groups to work through a series of exercises that involved using off camera flash in a number of different positions. This provided everyone with the experience of not only experimenting with off camera flash but also the chance to play "model" for our colleagues! Some of the props in the studio were also bought into play and further experimentation was undertaken.

Overall it was a very interesting and educational evening, so our three new members – Don, Con and Alex – picked a good evening to start their journey with our Club.
