Successful Start to 2015

Despite the rain we had a good turn out for the first outing of the year.  Eight of us braved the rain to photograph the 10km wheelchair race which took place around the rocks area in Sydneys CBD; of the eight we had three new members who were keen to learn and mix with the group.

Photographing speeding athletes zipping by in their wheelchairs proved to be very interesting and challenging.  Several members seemed pleased with their results and are hoping to submit some of their images for judging / feedback later in the year.  It proved a very popular event amongst photographers of all ages and abilities, so much so that at certain points on the track it looked like the press gallery at the Olympics.

Once we were done photographing the race we headed off to breakfast to get to know the new members.

Thanks to all who attended, hopefully we can see even more of you at the next club meeting on Feb 5th – remember this is a hands on night so bring your camera along…
