On Tuesday evening an intrepid band of club members made the trip south to The Shire as we took on the Sharks Camera Club for our Third Annual inter-club competition. The judge, Jeff Akers, had the task of assigning a score out of 15 to each of the 10 x Small Prints, 10 x Large Prints and 20 x Digital Images submitted by both clubs.
The first category to be scored was Small Prints and this saw Inner West establish the barest of leads – one point. Large Prints were next up, and here the Sharks Club came back strongly to establish a net lead of two points.
So it all came down to the Digital Images, and we had some ground to make up. We opened well, faded in the middle section and then came back to draw ahead with only eight images left. However it was not to be as the Sharks rallied at the end to claw back the lead.
And so, with 80 images scored, the final margin was just three points in the Sharks favour. We extend to them our congratulations for winning the bragging rights for the first time, in a night that saw a high quality of images on display.
